Study:
Offer EV And PHEV Buyers Different Battery Sizes:
This article discusses how Tesla
has fallen behind in stealing the show in the game when it comes producing
Electric Vehicles. A body based in Germany called as the Institute of Vehicle
Concepts states that automobile manufacturers should deploy the use of modular
batteries that have different storage capacities. At the Tesla S model launch
three battery packs were offered - 48Kwh, 60 Kwh and 85 Kwh. Although the
smallest battery pack was dropped in a few months time no other EV company
thought of implementing this fascinating concept. GM and Nissan propose to do
so with the Leaf and the Volt. This is basically a modular design game where
components can be swapped to accommodate different bodies, equipments or drive-trains.
The modular batteries come in three configurations- low, medium and high. This
gives automobile manufacturers the chance to resolve issues facing adaptability
to extreme weather conditions.

yes its a good strategy to use different batteries so that when they travel to some other place they can buy other companies battery and not actually wanting to buy specified once.
